Mermaid themed parties are very popular and it’s easy to see why! Here are some simple mermaid decorations, party favors, party ideas and more…
How to Throw a Mermaid Themed Party Cheap
To get started, create the main display. You’ll need several inexpensive plastic tablecloths. Trim each tablecloth in a scallop pattern (as shown in the photo below).
Then layer them, starting with the teal green on the bottom (it will be near the edge of the table on the top, tape it into place. Add the scalloped seafoam green tablecloth over the teal and again tape it into place.
Add the lavender purple scalloped tablecloth over the seafoam green tablecloth and tape it into place. Then finally, top with the royal purple tablecloth and secure it as well with tape so it won’t slip around.
Attach a net to the wall to secure balloons, allowing the net to overlap the top of the table. Craft nets are very inexpensive, we found this one on amazon for just a few dollars.

Next, add a few beach themed foods, like this fun and delicious “Coral” made from simple rock candy.

Seaweed Skewers- thread grapes onto shish-kebab sticks and place them in a tall glass vase to create reeds of seaweed

No kids party is complete without party favors to bring home, so here are some inexpensive fun ideas they’re sure to love. Grab a few small plastic beach pails with a shovel, some goldfish crackers, a bottle of bubbles, and an inflatable beach ball. All of these items can be found at the dollar store and the cost is approximately $5 per child.

Where did you find the pails? I’ve been looking around to do this idea but can’t find the sand buckets.
Dollar tree, dollar general, most dollar stores have the pails. You can also purchase beach pails online on Amazon.
