Sometimes finding fun things to do is as simple as peeling a piece of fruit! Nearly everyone has a hobby of one kind or another, but when I came across this amazing world-renowned Japanese banana sculptors work, I was hooked!

The sculptors name is Keisuke Yamada, an electrician by trade, but an amazingly fruitful artist by night (pun intended!). He sculpts his magnificent works of art using only a spoon and a toothpick, creating intricate designs. Keep in mind that bananas turn brown very quickly, so he has less than an hour each to sculpt and photograph his work before banana death sets in.

As if that talent weren’t enough, he often accentuates his artistic sculptures by incorporating drawings with them as well.

I don’t know about you, but I find his work to be very appealing… particularly when it’s smothered in Chocolate!

I can’t be positive, but I am quite sure this is the Comic book character SPAWN!

If you want to create your own banana sculpture, we recommend starting with a toothpick to very lightly sketch out the face or design, Then add a few more details by removing pieces, much like carving a pumpkin. Don’t worry, if your artistic creation doesn’t come out pretty the first few times, you can always eat it!

I realize that not everyone is an artist, but if you decide to try your hand playing with your food before you eat it, we’d love to see the sculpture creations you come up with!
