If you’ve just stumbled across our site, you may be wondering how it all began and what prompted us to create it. Well, it started nearly 15 years ago when a couple of lively ladies asked us to share a few family recipes (and our secrets) for saving money on the grocery budget. Well, we’re still sharing our menu plans and while we realize that grocery prices have varied greatly over the past 15 years, we’re still finding ways to eat well on a limited budget.
There are a number of ways that we work to trim the budget, without giving up our favorite foods. You’ll see that we incorporate things such as seafood, (bacon wrapped scallopsare my favorite!), crab legs, even beef wellington. You don’t have to spend a fortune to eat well and enjoy lavish dishes. Sometimes all it takes is a little planning and a touch of creativity.
Over the past 4 years we’ve been sharing our weekly meal plans without fail every week, well until last fall. If you’ve been following our meal plans regularly, you may have noticed that in the Fall of last year we “slacked off” so to speak. This was due to several reasons, but the biggest was mainly due to an attack on our server and having a large part of our coding overwritten.
While we were able to recover the majority of our site and articles, we also were forced to completely redesign the the entire site and learn a new publishing platform, so needless to say, I didn’t have much time to devote to sharing new articles or our menu plans.
