Chips Ahoy Cookies are a well known treat in kids lunch boxes across the USA, but what if you don’t live anywhere near a store or don’t have time to do the grocery shopping and you want that crisp little cookie right NOW? Well, you make your own! Here’s how:

You’ll Need:
4 cups of flour (all-purpose works fine!)
1 tsp Baking soda
2 tsp Salt
1 cup Light Brown Sugar
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 1/2 cup Crisco or Solid Shortening
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 large Egg White
2 tbsp Water
12 oz Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Measure all of the ingredients except the chocolate chips into a large mixing bowl and mix well. We actually recommend dumping them right into a kitchenaid mixer, but if you don’t have one of those any kitchen mixer will work well. Add the chocolate chips. The dough will be thick. Roll it into 2″ balls and place onto parchment paper. Using the bottom of a glass, press each cookie ball down lightly to flatten.

Bake at 325F for 12-15 minutes.
