I love my bread machine

I use it all the time. I bought mine from a thrift store for $7.00! Never, ever pay full retail for an appliance like a bread machine, a toaster oven, or other kitchen "novelties" because folks are always giving them away. I don't know why. It's such a great invention. It saves me lots of time. Plus, I'm not good (yet) at hand-made breads, so the machine provides bread for my family at a fraction of the cost of retail and with no preservatives in it.

Here are a few of my favorite recipes for it.

Basic White Bread (Rapid Cycle)

2 1/3 cups warm water
2 Tbsp butter (I use margarine), cut up
4 1/2 cups flour
2 Tbsp each sugar and dry milk powder
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp dry yeast

Set to rapid cycle. Your done!

Cinnamon Raisin Bread (Rapid Cycle)

1 2/3 cup warm water
2 Tbsp butter, cut up
4 1/2 cups flour (I use 1.2 white, 1/2 wheat)
2 Tbsp dry milk powder
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup raisins
1 1/2 tsp dry yeast

Add raisins when your machine beeps or as directed by your machine's manufacturer as to when to add the add-ins. Set to rapid cycle.

Sourdough Bread

1 1/4 cups sourdough starter
3/4 cup warm water
4 cups flour (white is best IMO)
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp yeast (yes, yeast in sourdough)

Set to basic/white cycle.

My machine was given to me used and I love it. There is nothing so good, tasting or smelling, as fresh bread. The recipes sound delicious. Can't wait to try them. Thanks

I keep looking for a bread machine at our local Goodwill stores, but can't find one with the little paddle thing inside. Wish me luck in my search. What's funny is I used to have one, didn't use it much ,gave it away, and now I would absolutely love to have one again.

I use mine for mixing and first rise and then bake in regular bread pans in oven. This is the best air freshener the smell of fresh bread baking.
