Several years ago, I read this tip about shampoo and conditioner. It's been stored at the back of my brain just waiting for a day like yesterday for it to pop out and save me money.
Go to Sally Beauty Supply and get a savings card. If you're military, this card is FREE.
Go to the shampoo section and buy the giant jugs of shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is concentrated and made to be mixed with water to dilute it. I paid $6.99 for a giant jug claiming to make up to 8 gallons of shampoo. I wouldn't dilute it that much, but I did about a 4 to 1 water to shampoo ratio, still saving me vast amounts of money. In essence, I spent about $14 for enough shampoo and conditioner for at least a year. WOW.

I made up a bunch of Mexican Hot Cocoa mix today and have it stored in glass jars in my pantry. Here's my recipe, which is different than the one listed here at Budget 101.
3 1/2 cups dry milk
1/4 cup baking cocoa
2/3 cup chocolate milk powder (Carlos V brand is cheap, in the Hispanic food section at WalMart)
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
Mix up and store in containers. To make a cup of cocoa, mix 1 cup hot water with 1/2 cup mix.
