Thrifty and Stingy are not the same!

You rub shoulders with both frugal and stingy when you are thrifty. We tend to travel in the same circles. We are both looking to get the most for less but with a different mindset.
Ahhh, but thrifty people now... Most of the thrifty people I've known in my life are or were quick to share. I'm thrifty and I love taking meals to friends. Passing along the skirt they admired. Drinking free sample Tea with them. ( And bragging it was free)
But stingy folk won't share. A stingy person will let all the pears on that tree go bad if they can not get to them, rather than share with a neighbor. For fear that neighbor might want some next year. But, a thrifty person would never watch perfectly good food go to waste if they could help it. I have found that this approach works out really well.
For example, I make a cheeseburger pie that everyone loves. I got hamburger meat for 1.25 lb. And blocks of chedder cheese for .79. First, from the store I started calling friends and telling them about the sale.. Then I went home and made two pies and took it to my friends. A month or so later they came by with a syrup bottle and three pint jars full of Tupelo Honey and a dollar store bag full of pecans. He had a job milking bee's and they had a pecan tree in their yard. Pretty much I got it all for under 5 bucks.
I have found that one of the best methods of saving money is to share.Another example, I made a loaf of bread for some friends a few monthes back and they have given me produce, seeds and hay since then.
I guess it really all boils down to your heart when I think about it.
Take care and I'll be thinking on something to run on about next week.
Are you a thrifty person who has been rewarded by sharing?(other than that warm fuzzy feeling you get from being good)
Do you have a person you see in your mind when you here"stingy"?
