New job soon

Found another new job that I'm rather excited about. Though I have to pass training, which is the last and final step of being fully hired. This is something I really really want though, so I'm sure I'll do fine. Job- Black Jack Dealer. It just suits me in many ways and the pay and benefits are actually really good too!

I also am working on making homemade plushies (Stuffed animals). So far, they're actually pretty nice, but I do end up hand sewing everything since a machine wouldn't work on the size I've been making them. Its much cheaper to make them this way than to buy them made by someone else. Usually I'll use about 1-3 pieces of felt and two buttons for eyes and polyfil. With a lot of left over felt for other projects later as well not to mention a polyfil bag tends to go a long long way...

I also made pot pie pasty type things last week for my parents for dinner. They really were impressed, but the recipe was rather easy, but I don't think my parents have the patience to make something like that. Nor do I think they like using raw flour if they don't have to.

The new job sounds interesting. I am sure you will do great and pass the training. Nothing is better than doing something that you enjoy. Tell us more about the plushies you are making. Are you selling them? Are they just for yourself? What kind of animals are you making?

Yes no kidding. I've been making My little pony themed plushies for myself to keep busy mostly and they're super expensive if you try buy one. I'm thinking about just giving them away to friends who express interest or selling them at a convention for whoever asks (I'm not going to another one for a few months so I have time to make a small bundle).

I was also going to make a couple misc animals like ferrets, sea horses and tree kangaroos since its hard to find those types and it gets expensive to order custom stuff. I was also considering doing monster plushies as well. The main thing I realized is I tend to make everything SUPER SMALL since its easier to keep working on something that you can see progress being made on.

The plushies sound so nice. My brain went in several different directions, wouldn't those make great toys for little pets (would have to change the button eyes to just stitches), or even giving them to children in the hospital (same thing about the button eyes). I bet they would sell like hotcakes at a convention. I agree with you that when you make something smaller and complete it faster there is more of a sense of accomplishment. Updated us on your training when you pass.

Its fine, mine does too when it comes to what I want to make. I already know if my ferrets would see them, I may or may not ever find them again, so they're kept away from them. They probably will when I go again next year if I have the time and resources. I'll be sure to let you all know if I get a permanent job or whatnot. It should be about a month or so until I know for sure.
