Just when you get comfortable, life sends you a curve ball

I've had a terrible time all winter long with my asthma kicking in and my throat completely closes down. I've been trying to relax and get through most of these attacks but I still have to use my emergency inhaler like 8 times a day. Now even I know that isn't good. So broke down and went to the doctor. She wasn't in but her partner put me on several new meds and breathing treatments. She called me back a few days later and asked me to go in for some lab work and come back a week later. I didn't know they can test for allergies via blood work now! Wow, much nicer than those pin pricks all over your back! Anyway my liver and kidneys both threw up a flag and I'm allergic to about 50 things growing around me and I'm also allergic to dairy, eggs and all gluten. I suddenly thought my life was over! My daughter took me out to eat so I got a salad but it came with just a tiny bit of feta cheese on it. The big test and sure enough the second I took a bite with the feta on it my throat closed right down. We picked off as much as we could and I got through our lunch. Later that evening we volunteered together with her sister and after that we went out to eat again. I ordered a large french fry and bottled water. No more fast food salads for me! But 2 days into this I've decided isn't so bad after all. I now know the cause of all my breathing problem and I feel so much better having lived egg free, dairy free and gluten free and yes I'm still simple sugars and starch free too. We had fried rice yesterday and I've got a pot of vegetable soup simmering for tonight. I will miss my cheese something awful but it sure is nice to be able to draw and nice deep breath of air too!
