Busy Week, loving the cooler weather

Finally it's cooled down to the 90's this week and we've been able to take a breather. Our guinea is FINALLY hatching her babies, I swear she's been setting for 2 months! I thought the eggs were supposed to hatch weeks ago and had it not been for her aggressive persistence, we might have tossed them into the woods by now.
The garden took a big hit the last few weeks with the triple digits, but the green peppers seem to be thriving. I'm getting 10 or each day and I only have 5 pepper plants. For the last year or so we've been working on the back yard trying to get it ready for a horse pasture, clearing poison oak/ivy/sumac, cutting down thin pines, grinding stumps etc. This past week, in between roofing and running to other jobsites, we had a chance to drill the holes and get the fencing up. Unfortunately, although the fence is looking great, I'm covered in poison ivy once again. That stuff HATES me, lol.
Since I plan to put Annie in there, we've decided to go with a more natural approach to the weeds and pick up a couple goats at the auction. We probably won't keep them for very long before reselling them, but they're excellent to clear weeds and other troublesome plants, particular in rattlesnake country!
The kids are back in school and it's nice to have my own schedule again. By my own I mean, I have a list half a mile long on the fridge with their sports, clubs, theater and half a dozen other activities, so I know which days I get to play taxi and which days I have time to mow, rake, garden or get caught up on laundry after work.
Whoops, DH is tapping his foot, time for our evening ride! Hope things are going well for you in your neck of the woods
