Yummy treats that help keep fido’s fleas at bay!
If your pet has been itching and scratching lately, here are some delicious anti-flea cookies to help fend off those nasty biting pests.
You’ll Need:
2 c. white flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. brewer’s yeast from the health food store
2 cloves minced garlic (see Vet Response on Garlic Safety)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 c. chicken or beef stock
Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl, then mix the oil and garlic blending it into the flour mixture, adding the stock, then flour mix, until all is used up. The dough should be fairly smooth. Roll out on a lightly floured surface until 1/4 inch thick.
Cut into cookies with a biscuit cutter or shaped cookie cutters & Bake at 400 F on greased cookie sheets for 20-25 minutes. Shut oven off, open door slightly & Cool in the oven to allow cookies to dry out thoroughly.
