copycat olive garden salad recipe

Over the years we’ve seen several copycat recipes for our favorite Italian restaurant chain’s house dressing. The entire point of making your own dressings or creating “copycat” recipes is to be able to enjoy the flavors of your favorite dishes when you might not otherwise be able to.

Sometimes this is due to not being able to afford going out, sometimes it’s due to the restaurant or store being so far away or not being available to you at all. In any case, having several variations of a homemade version can really come in handy, allowing you to create one using what you already have on hand.

What are the ingredients in an Olive Garden Salad? Finely chopped lettuce (iceberg or romaine), tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, pepperoncini peppers, black olives, and garlicky croutons make up the famous salad.

Here are three of our favorite copycat versions of this delicious house dressing, with varying ingredients, but very similar flavor. We’ve added pectin as a thickening agent to get the slightly thickened texture. It can be omitted, but the dressing may be fairly thin.
