I don’t. I’m not a short order cook. You will eat what I prepare, fix your own or go hungry.

However, you can have a say in what’s prepared in the first place, most of the time anyway. People do like different things and taste buds change over time. I see a lot of food wasted because everyone’s eating something different.

You eat your meal as a family and everyone has the same food to pick from. What you didn’t like before, you might like now. You won’t know if you don’t try.

One bite, that’s all you have to try.

I’m going to make bacon wrapped lil smokies, BBQ pulled pork and cheesy queso dip.

    Bacon wrapped lil smokies
1 lb bacon cut in 1/3rds
    1 pkg lil smokies
    1 cup brown sugar

Wrap each smokie with a 1/3 piece of bacon held with a toothpick. Put 1 layer in bottom of slow cooker, cover with brown sugar. Keep layering the rest of the ingredients.

    Cook 3-4 hours.

    BBQ Pulled pork
    1 pork loin
    2 cups bbq sauce

Put pork loin in slow cooker. Cook 8-10 hours. Remove pork, empty juices from pot.

Shred pork and return to pot, add BBQ sauce. Cook for another 4 hours.

    Queso dip
    1 brick Velveeta
    1 pound hamburger
    1 jar Salsa or Picante

Mix all ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on high to melted, stirring frequently. Yummy!

Thanks for the opportunity to win a slow cooker trio. Sure would make it a lot easier to serve for Super Bowl.

I haven’t made the laundry sauce yet but I do make my own powdered laundry detergent. At the last minute, I found out we had a lot of kids to get presents for. So, I made small handmade ornaments that saved us a lot of money and the kids loved them.

The third thing is to start using the vacuum sealed bags/jars to make our veggies and fruits last longer and get eaten rather than end up in the garbage. 🙂

I’m going to walk more throughout the day, take 5 minutes away from my desk every hour, and revise my favorite recipes to be healthier. I just need to keep taking small steps everyday until changes are permanent. 🙂
