It goes on your income tax liabiltiy, has something to do the the tax credits you get verses how how much tax you owed or were suppose to owe and then its subtracted some how. We have one income hubby’s and he made 18, 000 supporting 7 people so we had absolutely no tax liabilty, so we get $600 for being married and 300 for each of the five kids. The IRS web site breaks it down to the amount of how they figured it out. I’m just happy to get extra money right now.

Date: Saturday, May 17, 2008, 7:03 AMWell that stinks. I am a single mom and pay enough in taxes but I dont make a great income. I have 2 dependents but I can only claim 1. My son was 17 end of last year and that is not fair.

Date: Friday, May 16, 2008, 5:33 PMMy sil and bil are married last year have one child. They got their
stimulus check and only recieved 900.00. My mother is disabled and only
recieved 300.00. My Husband’s aunt and uncle only got 1.47. The
government never promised that each adult
would get the 600.00, it was
up to 600.00 per adult. And you would get 300.00 per child only
depending on how many are claimed in the child tax credit. We will only
be getting 600.00 instead of 900.00 for our three kids because we were
only allowed to claim two. How much we will get for the two of us is
anyone’s guess. My mother’s tax preparer exampled this to her and I. She also said that
she was told couples making more then 174,000 will not be getting
anything. And that people like low income, and college students are not
getting the full stimulus amount that they should. The IRS has a
formula that they are doing this all by.
