That’s it! We’re just being smart! 😎
I wonder if part of my issue is that I’ve grown up a lot since then and have other financial issues now than when I was younger.
When I was younger, I felt as though if I had X$, I’d be ok….Now, I know better – there’s college for my daughter, retirement, etc. that are things I didn’t think about back then.

As for the feeling of security, I go through the same thing. I want
to feel secure enough to relax a bit, but wisps of worry always
linger softly. What will it take? I betcha if I had double what I
have, I’m sure I’d still worry about the “what ifs”. “What if I get
cancer and I lose my house and savings?” I’m in better financial
shape than most of the other gals I work with, yet they don’t seem
to worry like I do.
I do feel happy and secure to a certain extent, and maybe the “what
ifs” keep me disciplined. Maybe I’m just being smart.
