This is Yugoslavian thing that my mom use to make. We take old home made bread (with hard crust and heavy bread) cut it on a thicker side. Make french toast from it. When you flip it on the other side sprinkle mozzarella cheese so it melts while the first side is browning. To serve we pour tomato juice over it. As dessert we then pour maple syrup over it. My kids love it. We will have it for breakfast or dinner.

Also I cook egg noodles, drain and rinse in cold water. In another pot I will peel and (small) cubed potatoes, cook and drain. In a frying pan I will brown onions and add paprika. In the potato pot add noodles, the onion mixture
and 1/2 to 1 c water, salt to taste. Heat thoroughly and serve.

Then in another pot I will ad 1 or 2 eggs, oil, cottage cheese, feta cheese and noodles. Heat till the cheeses melts, add water and salt.

Crapes are inexpensive. Milk, flour, an egg or 2 and little salt. You can sprinkle sugar on it, preserve, hazelnut chocolate spread. We like it best with cottage cheese and sliced strawberries.

When I was a little girl we didn’t have a hole lot, so my mom was creative with what she had and today I still enjoy it and so do our kids.

I like to roast whole red peppers till the skin is black. Peel and remove seeds and cord. Separate in 1/2 and bread it. I make a pepper, cheese and tomato sandwich.

      I love to cook.

Omelets with cheese and veggies are also really good, inexpensive meals.
Add some homemade bread as a side item if you need a starch.
