Well of course you have to report it 🙂 BUT, if you want I can run down the way the taxes work, business use of home etc. for you. It’s very different for daycare than it is for any other business. You can make quite a bit and not have to pay taxes. But the tax breaks are not as good if you will only be doing it at night vs day and night and weekend.
Check out thriftstores. Sometimes they have very nice toys. And remember that at night they won’t have as much time for playing. My night-time kids usually come in and play for an hour, then color for 30 minutes or so, eat for another 20 minutes, get cleaned up, changed, and then they lay down for a cartoon or disney movie. Usually, they fall asleep around 8pm and if they didn’t get dropped off until 4-5pm they didn’t have a lot of time for play.

Subject: Budget101.com : Thinking of starting childcare at night…..
I was considering to start watching kids at night to supplement my
income ( I am a sub teacher and dont work everyday). My questions are
below for comment…
1. Do I have to report this as income to the goverment?
2. Anyone know of any good resources to get started i.e. toys etc?
Any suggestions are welcome as well as comments.
