This is the one that had a Radio Sponsered “Free Day’ last week over
Spring Break. They ended up having a LOT of problems with people,
because the free day was unregulated- the radio station told everyone
that anyone who showed up between 6am and 9am would be able to get into
the park for free. Of course, several thousands of people showed up.
The highway got shut down, people were literally dropping their teen
kids off on the highway, and letting them walk and leaving them there
for the day.
Six Flags says they agreed to allow 3000 free tickets. In the first 15
minutes the gates were open, they ended up letting in 15,000 people.
They had to shut and lock the gates after that because the park was not
prepared to handle that many people.
I did read in the article though, that there is a nice zoo near by
(mostly, they included that, because the zoo was flooded with people
looking for something to do after being unable to get into Six Flags).
Here’s a site for things to do with Kids in Atlanta:

> making a vacation of it.
> What other things are there to do near six flags, what about hotels?
