I just thought I’d let you guys know about this:
My hubbie & I had a bad experience at our local Fridays yesterday, so I thought I’d call & speak with someone at the corporate office. I found the number online (Its 1-800-FRIDAYS). I called and spoke with a lady in Customer Relations.
🙂
Sometimes it pays to call & let them know when there’s a problem. 🙂

I’m sorry you had such a lousy experience. While we choose to just move our business elsewhere instead of complaining, I always call when I have had excellent service. I know places appreciate when they hear they are doing something right instead of wrong.
it has to be pretty bad for me to call. but stores, restaurants, etc. need and want to hear from consumers when they have issues with the product, etc.
think of it this way, you call to praise them when they do things well, but they also want you to let them know when they are doing things badly. if i had just decided to never go back to tgi fridays again, i would not be informing them of the issue & giving them a chance to correct it. that wouldn’t be fair of me.
i try to always commend something as well. for example, with tgi fridays there was one girl that was very nice. i made sure to tell the corporate office about her & to give them her name so that she could be commended.
i also told them how much my husband & i enjoyed eating friday’s food. i also apologized several times because i feel a little timid calling to “complain” about something like that. but the lady in the corporate office commended me & told me to never feel embarrassed about calling.
but i also completely agree with you. it is very important to also commend a company, restaurant, etc when they are doing a good job! 🙂

I was at Ruby Tuesdays for dinner one evening and we had ordered an appetizer which had some kind of chicken wing that neither of us liked (no big deal). When the waitress came by to pick it up she saw that we did not eat them and asked if everything was alright, we just said we did not care for them. She had a manager come over and the manager apologized (we didn’t even complain because it wasn’t their fault)- the manager gave us two desserts at no charge.
When she brought our bill she said that she took my entree off the bill.
I have never had to call a corporate office due to a complaint yet I have to say I was truely impressed with the service I received at both places especially when it wasn’t even something they did wrong. 🙂

We went to Bob Evans one time, we never had a problem there previously, but this one time, the waitress was bad(and not in a good way). we complained to the manager on duty, and not only got our meals that day free, but she gave us a card for another two meals free. now that’s good customer service.
you have to make them want to come back.
