Make Your Own Spicy Sweet Potato Chips in less than 10 minutes
1 sweet potato, thinly sliced with a mandolin slicer, pat slices dry with paper towel
pinch chili powder or pinch thyme
pinch salt & pepper
layer the potatoes (not-touching) on a glass plate lined with parchment paper.
mist the potatoes with olive oil (i use a misto to spray it), then sprinkle the thyme or chili powder), salt & a dash of black pepper over the potatoes.
microwave on high for five minutes. let the potatoes rest for one
minute, then cook for another four minutes. remove any chips that are
light brown and cook the remaining chips, if necessary, for one more
repeat until all chips are cooked. cool completely before
storing in zip-close baggies.
oven instructions: bake for 20-25
minutes (or until they reach the desired crispiness) at 450 degrees F
on a baking sheet lined with parchment or atop a wire rack
But you’ll have to watch them in the oven, they can burn quickly.
Deep Fry Instructions:
Heat some oil in a Saucepan or fry daddy- when the oil hits 375F fry UNSEASONED sweet potato slices until they’re crisp and float to the top. Remove with a slotted spoon and season immediately. Let them cool, eat!
