Southern Strawberry Punch Bowl Cake- this is the perfect recipe for potluck gatherings, it’s easy, delicious and requested over an over again.
i usually use a homemade cake mix and real whipped cream, but if you’re in a hurry you can cheat and use storebought cake mix and cool whip.Strawberry Punch Bowl Cake
1 yellow cake mix
1 (6 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 lg. can crushed pineapple, drained
2 (10 oz.) pkgs frozen strawberries
2 bananas
1 recipe of homemade stabilized whipped cream or if you want a quicker route you can use 1 (16 oz.) carton Cool WhipPrepare the cake mix as directed in the recipe or on the box, Baking the cake in two round cake pans and then set aside to cool.
Make pudding and set in refrigerator to get cold.Cut one layer of cake in small chunks; put in punch bowl.
Spoon half of pudding on top, spreading it around; then add half of pineapple and one package strawberries.
Slice one banana on top; half of whipped cream/Cool Whip, spreading to cover completely.Repeat with the other layer the same – ending with whipped cream/Cool Whip.
Let set in refrigerator overnight.
