I purchased a whole boneless ham last week on sale (9 pounds for
only $10.81!), and didn’t know what to do with it, so I cut it in
half first, and froze 1 half. Then I started looking for easy
recipe’s for ham in the crock pot. The one I found is so sweet and
easy, and oh so good.
1 half ham
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 stick butter or margarine
1/4 cup water
Spread 1 cup of brown sugar on the bottom of the crock pot, then
place the ham in, flat side down. Spread the other cup of brown
sugar over the ham. I went ahead and cut some spots on the rounded
top so the brown sugar could seep in.
From there, drizzle the water
around the edges, so it wets some of the brown sugar.
Slice the butter into smaller pats, and set ontop of the brown sugar
around the ham. I added one pat to the top, sitting on a pile of
brown sugar, so that when it melted, the sugary mix would go into
Crock at high for 4-5 hours, and at low for an additional 2 hours.
Because I’m an insomniac, I threw it in at 3am last night, and it’s
ready right now for Sunday dinner. It just pulls apart, it’s so
