      Simple Tomato Sauce
      1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
      2 large garlic cloves, bruised
2 1/2 cups canned chopped tomatoes
1/3 tsp salt, or to taste
1 1/2 tbs basil or parsley
      pepper to taste
Warm the olive oil and garlic in a pan over medium-low heat, until the garlic is golden. Add the tomatoes, salt, and herbs. Simmer gently for 15 minutes.

Remove the garlic, if desired. Let cool. Pass the sauce through a food mill, or puree in a blender or food processor.

Reheat just before serving, adjusting for salt and adding pepper. 2 1/2 cups = about 160 calories per 1/2 cup.
serve over hot pasta of your choice and don’t forget the crusty bread to sop up the sauce;-)

I always make my own spagetti sauce which is an all day process for me. I think that I am going to try this one though- simple is always best in my book. 🙂

this is a quickie for when you have the taste but NOT the time! the texture is like the jar sauces so now everyone can make their own sauce and save some money!
