ShopRite ending it’s reusable bag 5c credit on Oct 25th, 2014

ShopRite has always embraced sustainable business practices that minimize our impact on the environment and improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. More than 20 years ago, we introduced a reusable bag rebate. One of the first of its kind in the Northeast, the program offered a small financial incentive to reuse your plastic, paper and other reusable shopping bags. Back then it was a way to educate and encourage our customers to conserve resources. We are happy to say that in the last seven years alone, YOU have been part of keeping approximately 321 million bags out of landfills! Our goal of encouraging bag reuse has been met. As a result, we have decided to end the rebate program effective October 25, 2014.
