Cut in butter until mixture resembles cornmeal. Make a well in center & add egg first, begin mixing then add milk.Do not over mix. Turn dough onto floured surface & shape into a round or square. Cut dough with knife or large biscuit cutter.Place on cookie sheet – do not let sides touch.
