1 cup flour
1 Tbs baking powder
2 Tbs sugar
1/2 cup milk or buttermilk
1/2 tsp salt
6 Tbs butter
1 egg, lightly beaten
Mix dry ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles cornmeal. Make a well in center & add egg first, begin mixing then add milk.
Do not over mix. Turn dough onto floured surface & shape into a round or square. Cut dough with knife or large biscuit cutter.
Place on cookie sheet – do not let sides touch. Bake @ 425 for 10-15 minutes.
