School & Pet Peeve. . .

Our schools now have central air, thank God. Before the new school was built and

the middle and high schools were renovated, it was horribly hot there in the

summer. I donated several fans over the years. The 1st grade teachers said

they’d get the tougher classes done in the morning because the kids would be

falling asleep from the heat in their rooms after lunch.

I went to this high school myself. When I was a freshman, there was a walkout to

protest the heat. It was well over 100 in the halls and only the offices had

a/c! The police were called and the tv news covered it. I was only 14 and

petrified that I would be arrested so I ran back inside lol. i was probably more

afraid of what my mom and dad would do if i got in trouble! i’d probably still

be grounded.

Another peeve I have is that our Jr. high in this day and age does not have

A/C!!!!!!! The school celebrated it’s 50 year anniversary 2 years ago.ÂÂ

It gets so hot in their that I do not know how the teachers can teach and the

students to learn. A lot of the classrooms do not have windows in the inner

part of the school.
