      1 lb ground beef
      1/3 c dry bread crumbs
      1/2 tsp salt
      1/4 tsp pepper
      2 tbl cold water
      1 egg
      1 large onion, sliced and separated
      1- 10 1/2 can condensed beef broth
      4 oz mushrooms, sliced
      2 tsp cornstarch
      1/4 c A1

      • Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, egg and A1; make 4 patties about 3/4″ thick
      • Cook patties over medium heat, turning occasionally, until brown- about 10 minutes
      • Drain grease
      • add mushrooms and broth and onion; heat to boiling, reduce heat and cover.
      • Simmer until patties are done, about 10 minutes
      • Remove patties
      • Heat onion mixture to boiling. Mix water and cornstarch and add to onion mixture
      • Boil and stir 1 mintue- serve over patties

      **Do not have to use mushrooms; can serve the sauce on the side as gravy*
