I group food, cleaning supplies, or anything else (cat food, litter) I get at the grocery store in the same catagory. However, I use a very simple budget. It works for me.
My husband and I carried the memo pad for a few months and it helped us see where we could tighten up our spending. We don’t use it all the time. Only when we think we need to get back on track.
Most of the time, we stay on course.
I’m carrying a small memo pad, and trying to write everything down as
soon after as I can. But that
works only so-so.
One last thing: When you record food, do you break it down at all? Like
treats vs food vs cleaning supplies?
