I got one!!! Actually, I got this from allrecipes.com (and I will give
credit to the creator as soon as i can find out who she is!). I modified it
a little, and you can make it for less than $5.
3 lb. ‘sale’ roast (whatever’s on sale this week for cheap)
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup (or MYO)
1 can condensed beef broth (or MYO)
Combine soups in crockpot. Put roast in and cook on low for 8 hours. I am
finishing our leftovers as I type and it is delicious!!!

We’ve been making this recipe for 40 years (before the CP, it was the oven). The only different thing we do is add a pkg of dry onion soup mix. You can use chicken, pork anything you want, same ingredients, different meat.
Rice, potatoes or pasta. It’s all good.

it means “make your own”. it took me a while to figure it out.
as for the roast, we add beer instead of water. for some reason, it makes it very tender and adds to the flavor.
i just got a roasting pan and rack for christmas. if i was making a roast in that, would i use the rack or set it in the liquid? i’ve only used a crock pot for roasts before, so it is kinda new.
i was thinking rack for birds, roasts in pan. sound right?
