If you’re new to raising chicks, like we were, you fret about the fuzzy babies for days, checking on them constantly. Here is a tip that really worked well and made babies seem very content.

For those who are thinking about getting some starter chicks for fresh eggs this year, hang a cheap feather duster in the brood box. It gives them a place to snuggle and greatly reduces stress as they have a new “momma”, You can rig it up with an old wire coat hanger, or even tie it with string to suspend it.

you can use a waterproof heating pad underneath them, just put a washable or disposable covering over it, because they will go potty on it.
