quick question about convenience foods

  Is it really cheaper to make them yourself. I am looking at this site
  that has recipes for some of them and with all the ingredients it
  takes to make some of them, I don’t see HOW it could be cheaper, esp
  if the recipe requires things you don’t normally keep on hand.
  
  Can we discuss convenience foods some?
