1 pkg long grain & wild rice
1 1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken
      1 can french-fried onions

Cook rice. Add chicken. Top with onions.

      Voila!

Now, that’s my kind of recipe — thanks!

I modified the recipe a little by adding a regular sized can of cream of mushroom soup (mixed with a half-can of milk = $0.65), a tablespoon of minced garlic ($0.02), and a can of drained green beans ($0.39) that I had hanging out in the back of the cabinet.

      Absolutely delicious!

Even by today’s prices, this would still be a cheap meal. I would probably add a diced onion and sliced mushrooms while everything was cooking just to complete it a bit more.
Even with the additions, it would probably come in under $5 total. Sounds good to me.
