Wow, I never heard of these ideas. Ann in Arkansas is a smart cookie. I’d
love to see a few of my friends use these ideas to restrain from using
credit cards!

if you can not tell yourself no, there are a few things you can do to
keep your credit card and not be able to easily use it. for one
thing, **don’t carry it with you** unless you are on that trip where
you need to rent the car. if you need a little self-control help,
take a container, put water in it about half full, place the card on
top of the water, and freeze. fill this the rest of the way with
water and freeze that. when you need the card, you will have to take
out the container and let it thaw on the counter or in the
sink. you can not use an ice pick, boil, or microwave to melt the
ice–those processes will damage the card. the trick i use is that
i have mine in a little plastic sleeve with “new house” written on it
in sharpie pen. that reminder is more than enough to keep me from
using that card unless i *really* need it, such as when the car lost
it’s serpentine belt last summer.
