Prairie planting

Hi Everybody.

I’m new here, it looks like a great site, right up my alley. My kids are always giving me grief for being so “frugal”.

I was wondering if anybody else out there has planted prairie habitat? I’m in west central Missouri, have a 2 1/2 acre yard, that takes entirely too much time and gas to mow, and would like to border the whole thing with native grasses and wildflowers.

I would welcome any advice offered.
