3 cans of Cream of Mushroom soup (about $.50/ea for generic)
3 soup cans of milk (less than $1 worth)
1 stick butter (about $.12)
1 can mushrooms (about $.50 for generic)
1 can green beans (about $.40 for generic)
3-5 pork chops or pork steaks (I got mine on sale, the package had 6
of them for $3.50)
2 cups non-instant rice (about $.25 worth)
1 envelope mushroom gravy mix (about $.33 each)
Mix everything except rice into a crock pot, and heat on high for 3
hours. At the 3 hour mark, mix the rice in, and lower the temp to
Low until rice is tender- roughly an hour.
This meal isn’t neccessarily cheap to make at $12, but we’re a
family of 5, and it made 5 quarts worth of this stew, of which we
refridgerated & froze close to 4 quarts. This will make many many
meals. Add a cheap can of biscuits to the meal, and you’re all set.
