• 2 eggs • 1 cup milk • 1 cup all purpose flour • 1/2 tsp salt Preheat oven to 400º. Butter 8 custard cups and place in oven on a baking sheet while preparing the batter. Beat eggs slightly and add remaining ingredients.
Beat mixture on medium speed for one minute, scraping sides of bowls. Batter should be smooth and thin. Remove custard cups from oven and fill each custard cup 1/3 full.
Bake for 50 minutes or until crisp and golden brown. Do not open oven during baking or popovers may fail. Serve warm from the oven with butter and jam.
