We have had pools as long as I can remember, so hopefully I can offer some useful input. My first question is the “metal” sided pool. Is is a true steel-sided pool, or the blue kid with the PVC-like tubing around the outside? I am questioning that a true metal pool is only $2 difference than the blue “cauldron” (as we call them) pools. I have had both the steel and cauldron pools, and feel that the steel are definitely superior. The blue ones are really (!!) hard to get level, and I know people who have had up to a foot difference in depth from one side to the other. You are also supposed to drain them and take them down every year. The one year we had one, the filter didn’t do a very good job, and it was impossible to vacuum any debris from the bottom. When we stored it over the winter, mice got at it, and ate holes everywhere. The true steel ones (like Doughboy), you can leave up all winter, saving you a ton a money in
water refilling every year, plus maintenance is much easier as the filters are far better.
