Try shopping at Walmart oranother discount department store and always make a LIST . At Walmart I get pants and shirts for my 5 yr old for $4.00each. They are cute and stylish. Dresses skirts and the like are no more than $12.00. I stay away FROM the Mall Myself with seven kids a trip to the food court will cost me around 60 to 70 dollars. I don’t think so. I’d much rather cook at home so that way I know what’s going into my kids bodies. ANd if you think you don’t have time to cook because of work errands etc. Try a slow cooker.
My mom got a $50 gift card to Lord & Taylor (upscale department store)
in the mail as a promotion. There was no minimum purchase required. She
generously gave it to me, because she really didn’t need anything. I
really didn’t want to wind up spending money just because I had a gift
card (which always seems to happen), and I think I was pretty
successful. I went to the mall after having lunch, so I wouldn’t be
tempted to eat at the food court – and blow $8. I purchased a sweater
for myself, and red plaid pajamas for my daughter (which will be
perfect for Christmas morning – and the rest of the winter of course).
They were both on sale, so all I had to pay was 98 cents. I was on a
mission, so I walked right past the other stores and came back
As a side note, I was appalled at the regular retail prices in the
department store. I guess I’ve spent too much time in consignment
shops! They wanted $40 for a cute little sweater for my daughter.
Sweaters for myself were $80 – $140.
