      Contents of Jar

      ? cup dried chopped onion
      2 tsp dried minced garlic
      1 bay leaf
      ? tsp dried rosemary
      1 tsp dried basil
      1 tsp salt
      ? tsp pepper

      Dried Beans and Pasta
      ? cup great northern
      ? cup kidney
      ? cup pinto
      ? cup pink

      1? cup small pasta

      (put in jar in layers except for pasta, putting bay leaf along side (looks nice that way).”shove” a small Ziploc bag into the jar leaving the top open. Pour pasta into Ziploc bag and seal bag.)

      If you try to put the pasta in the Ziploc before you put it in the jar you will have trouble getting all of it into the jar and will end up breaking it.


      1 medium onion chopped
      1 large carrot, chopped
      1 stalk celery, diced
      2 T olive oil
      28oz can crushed tomatoes
      2 qt liquid (vegetable or chicken stock or water)

      Saut? vegetable in oil until softened. Stir in contents of jar, tomatoes, and liquid. Boil for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and cover partially. Simmer until beans are tender (2-3 hours). Add pasta and continue cooking until pasta is al dente (5-7 minutes). Be sure not to over cook pasta. Serve immediately with parmesan, olive oil and cracked pepper.

      Serves 8.
