Painted Snowman Mason Jar
If you’re going to want to add light strings to the finished jars, you should drill the jar before you paint it. Here’s how to drill a hole in a mason jar without breaking it. The trick is to use the proper drill bit.
Frost the jar first: combine 1 Tbs. Basic Elmers glue, 3-5 drops of food coloring and 1 1/2 tsp water. Mix it well and “paint” the jar with it to give it a frosted look. If you’d like, you can use frosted spray paint in various colors instead.Let it dry completely.
While it’s drying: Print off a snowman design that you like, (there’s a bunch at the bottom of this post) Then insert the printed design inside the jar, tape in place so it doesn’t shift, then on the exterior of the jar trace it with a pencil so you’ll have guidelines to paint it!
Paint the snowman onto the jar using acrylic paints add ribbon and tea light. If you drilled a hole in the jar you can add a string of fairy lights.here are some snowmen ideas. you could do reindeers or santa or penguins too!
