I’m having good luck with plastic tubs. And in some of them I put moth
balls but not all. We have opossums and raccoons and last year
something chewed our freezer cord and a fan cord in half! They got into
the boxes and destroyed Christmas decorations but left the tubs alone.
If you belong to a freecycle site, you might ask for the tubs or any
hard suitcases or trunks. A friend of mine got quite a few tubs that
way. Mice will chew thru cardboard, paper and plastic bags, even heavy
plastic bags. I think moth balls help but they need to be replaced
every few months and I’d hate to count on them keeping the mice out of
cardboard. KarenMO
