      Ostara Buns

      Ingredients:
      * ? cup warm water
      * 3 tbsp butter
      * 1 tbsp instant powdered milk
      * ? cup white sugar
      * 3/8 tsp salt
      * 1 egg + 1 egg white
      * 3 cups all-purpose flour
      * 1 tbsp active dry yeast
      * ? cup currants
      * 1 tsp ground cinnamon
      * 1 egg yolk
      * 2 tbsp water
      * ? cup powdered/icing sugar
      * ? tsp vanilla extract
      * 2 tsp milk

      Make the dough in the bread baking machine or following the following instructions:
      Combine the warm water, butter, powdered milk, sugar, salt, egg, egg white, flour, and yeast. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead about 5 minutes. Knead in the currants and cinnamon; continue kneading for another 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl and turn the greased side up. Cover and let it rise until it is double in size. Punch the dough down on a floured surface, cover and let it rise another 10 minutes. Shape the dough into 12 balls and place in a greased 9×12-inch pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until they are doubled, about 35-40 minutes.
      Preheat the oven to 180C / 375F? . Mix the egg yolk and 2 tbsp water. Brush onto the balls. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the pan immediately and cool on a wire rack.
      Mix together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk; use it to paint your desired symbols on each cooled bun.
