Ihave used the Zimecterin (ivermectin for horses) paste wormer for over 20 years and have never had a dog get heartworms or die from it, although I wouldn’t use the injectible ivermectin. I’ve used the Zimecterin on at least 15 different dogs (I always have a lot at one time) since this was the only way I could afford heartworm preventative. I don’t analyze the amount I should give each dog, just a dab depending on the size of the animal. I’ve used it on dogs weighing from 18 lbs up to 185 lbs.

Be very careful with using this product off label, you can kill your pet.Thomas & Tracy Harris

and you use just a little bit like .01 per 10#. Are you actually
injecting it? Was told this stopped heartworms. Karen— In Budget101_@yahoogroups.com, Sarah Longwrote:

to time. You can give each dog an injection of Ivomectin (the same
type used for cattle/swine) and that will STOP any and all fleas/ticks
from bother the dogs. Most vets wont tell you about it because it
doesn’t cost a lot of money, you have to ask for it. We’ve been using
it for YEARS and have never had a single problem with it. You also
don’t have to worry about chemicals being on the dogs that could get on
a person/child.
