Ironic you mention your father’s illness. I recently completed my

research and presented it to my chair and program and completed my paper

on Mental Illness in the Workplace:What do employers do when faced with

an employee with mental illness? (it also includes general info about

mental illness)…. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon (through much

research and personal experience with others)for individuals with mental

illness to act as you describe.–the strangeness or unwanted comments

are not uncommon in various forms of mental illness and many do not

understand how it affects an individual, as well as those on the

receiving end…my heart goes out to you….

mental illness impairs one’s thinking, emotions, their ability to

socialize, and their daily tasks. ~trina~

btw, doing this paper means i am able to officially graduate this sat

with my masters in science in leadership and management. yeahhh!!!!!

now i really gotta budget with school loans lol ;o)

Strange, I also didn’t know my father until about 15 years ago. He also

left, and had schizophrenia. Sadly, I wish that I had not gone to the

trouble of looking him up. He is strange, cruel and downright mean.

Some people in his family say it is because he was a POW, and maybe so,

but I will not subject my family to his rants and cruelty. So I choose

not to speak to him. Last time we spoke was 3 years ago.
