Usually, I’m a lurker on this list, and I don’t know if this will help

you or not, but if not, maybe it will help someone else. Two things:

One, have you heard of Angel Food Ministries

(http://www.angelfoodministries.com)? I heard of them from another list I’m

on, Freezer Friendly here at yahoo groups. The beauty of this program

is not just that you can purchase good (so people have told me) food

for much less, but that everyone qualifies – you don’t have to prove

you are financially needy by someone else’s standards. Please check

      out their website.

Two, do you and your husband have a 401K plan? Did you know that you

can get a loan of what is essentially your own money from that plan?

We can where I work. My boss told me about this one day when I was

telling her that I was tired of feeling poor because of my credit card

debt. She told me to check out the possibility of getting a loan of

my own money from my 401K account – we can get out as much as 50

percent of what we have in there – and paying off my cards. I did

that, and I can tell you – what a relief!! Six percent interest for a

fixed period of time instead of 21 percent interest for what seemed

like the rest of my life! And the debt that felt crippling before, I

don’t even notice now – I’ve got about 2 1/2 years left of payments –

as the money is taken out of my check automatically and pre-tax. And

it is so much easier to keep to a budget now that I don’t feel

      strangled by credit card debt.

      Hope this helps,

      Loraine
