I miss cable at times mostly because its difficult to get good reception without

it. But I’m really not much of a tv watcher. I like the news, and shows that

are generally found on PBS like Antique Roadshow, etc. My husband and kids miss

it more than I do, thats for sure. We have accumulated so many videos over the

years, there is always something to watch. I look for favorite shows that have

gone on dvd and if the price is reasonable, I’ll buy them. It took me over two

years, but we now have the complete Gilmore Girls set for all 7 seasons. The

girls and I love that show and never tire of watching them. We also have a

season of The Cosby Show, Eight Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter and

a couple of seasons of 7th Heaven. Between those, the computer, the wii and

other games, there is no need to be bored here.

When DH and me moved into our house last year we had a

built in dishwasher. We had one in our apartment as

well. I grew up in the 70’s where my parents could

not afford a dishwasher and so I got used to not

having. I rarely use a dishwasher. Only when we have

a holiday family gathering and even then, I rather use

my hands. We have basic cable too. I don’t watch as

much t.v. as I used to. Its not because we cannot

afford it, it’s simply that my needs have changed as I

have gotten older. I think sometimes when we have too

much choice, people want more. I just limit my

choices and then I find I do better with less.
