Hmmm… Sounds like your signature line there is going to be your best bet… (It isn't a “bet” is it?
It is faith and knowing that we are loved and cared for.)
Harsh – some of the words – since they are in email you can't hear the inflection behind them, but I'm sure everyone wants the best for your kids. Congrats on the odd jobs your son is doing – they add up – and all one can do sometimes is just keep trying.
Are there free clinics in your area that will at least handle the prenatal care? In Washington, that was my route for my baby – husband had no insurance and not enough employment to pay for medical. The free clinic takes a sliding scale and when your income is zero, that is pretty much what you pay.
As for delivery – the hospital can't turn her away – I don't think. And the bill can be written off to charity if you ask the right social worker.
And now she has you to teach her to do things and give her a better start in life. One day at a time. No driving without a license.
Has she gone down to the local dmv and asked them exactly what she should do to get a picture id? maybe talking to a person face to face will help …. if you go with her and vouch that she lives with you – charge her rent ???
(doesn't have to be real money necessarily – maybe you pay her for chores with $100 and then she writes the check back to you for $100 and you give her a receipt?) I'm not talking doing anything underhanded – but would that be a way to provide a receipt – proof that you accept money for her rent? I don't know if that made any sense, but as I recall you just need some sort of way to show that she really lives in TN now.

So, your son is working? As in “no family support” – I would assume that
does not include you and your son (the baby's father?)
Yes we are supporting both of them. My son has been trying to get a job since he got back from basics but no luck.
No one's hiring. He had a good job before he left for basics but that's gone now. He's doing odd jobs for people while he is looking but that's not going to help with the insurance and medical bills.
Sometimes we just need to get out of the way
and let Jesus take control.
