Heavy Cream: heavy cream must have at least 36 percent milkfat but can have more and it resists curdling when it is heated. It’s usually used to make puddings, ice cream, custards, soups etc
Light Cream- must be at least 18% fat (but LESS than 30% Fat). It can also be listed at Coffee Cream or Table Cream. When it’s heated, it has a tendency to separate.Whipping Cream has a high fat content, about 30% not more than 36% You can actually make your own sour cream by adding just a touch of lemon juice and whipping it. Some brands of whipping cream actually have carageenan (thickening agent) added to it.

To answer your question, no it cannot be used in place of Heavy Whipping Cream because once they’re separated, they will NOT whip no matter how much you try.
