      I use evaporated milk (fatfree) in place of cream in recipes. Do not do this for desserts, though.

      I buy buttermilk powder and use it in baking.

      I use powdered milk in cooking, too.

      The fatfree canned milk makes cream soups taste creamier or richer than if you use powdered milk.

      The advantage of using these milk products is that they aren’t stale or sour.

      I watch for sales on the evaporated milk and then I stock up on it.
