      We got a couple of mouser cats. That worked better than traps. Poison

      is a problem because then they die within the walls – and rot.

      One thing to do is to put everything foodlike or nestlike in a metal,

      glass, or sturdy plastic container. Less free lunches for them and all

      that.

      Block up every crack you can find, look for holes, etc., starting from

      the outside in. You can get some expanding foam to squirt in hard to

      reach places. It is almost impossible to completely mouseproof things,

      but at least you can turn the mouse freeway into a two lane road.

      Rodents can chew on electrical wires, so they can creat fire hazards as

      well.
